Peace In the Waiting

Trusting God's timing is an amazing and deeply spiritual promise that many people struggle with. The Bible offers many examples that give us insight of the importance and assurance of trusting in God's perfect timing.

One of the most such examples is found in the story of Abraham and Sarah. Despite their old age and Sarah being barren, God promised them a son. In Genesis 21:2, we read, "For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him." This story gives us hope that God's promises come to pass at the time He sees fit, not according to our schedules.

The word we receive from Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." This verse encourages us to trust that God knows each season of our lives and that His timing is perfect, even when we may not understand it.

Habakkuk 2:3 is another powerful reminder: "For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry." This passage reflects the idea that God's promises will indeed come to pass in due time.

Understanding and embracing that trust requires faith and patience. It's about believing that God loves us and has the best plan for our lives. If you're struggling with waiting on God's timing, seek His peace in prayer and His wisdom in the scriptures, knowing that His plans for you are good. We find this clearly revealed in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Rest today in the promise that God's timing is always perfect.
